Medical Assistant - Float

POSITION TITLE: Medical Assistant - Float

RESPONSIBLE TO: Practice Manager/Director of Nursing

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Purpose of this Position: In addition to their home clinic, the Medical Assistant (MA) is required to work at other locations at Valley Family. A 5% float differential will be added the Float MA’s wage. The MA is responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a nurse, mid-level provider, and/or physician. The MAs prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients including sterilization, cleaning, and checks on medical equipment. The MA prepares basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens, as well as entering diagnostic or medication orders under the direction of a Licensed Independent Provider (LIP).
