Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant works as a member of an interdisciplinary team in one of MDC’s behavioral healthcare programs, providing quality guest/client care by performing a variety of administrative and clinical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner within the scope of their practice.

• As directed, perform tasks and procedures within scope of practice, documenting accurately and completely in the medical record of MDC clients/guests.
• Document client/guest data and interaction in the medical record completely and accurately and file progress notes and reports as directed.
• Take and document accurate vital signs.
• Administer medications, and intravenous injections.
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing, including blood draws.
• Accurately document relevant client/guest symptoms, observations, and procedures.
• Communicate in an attentive and client-centered manner in every interaction.
• Obtain and record client/guest medical history.
• Other duties as assigned.
