Summary

Performs EEG and electromyographic testing on patients of all ages, troubleshoots equipment, and ensures sterile procedures in a military hospital neurology service.

About the Position: This position is located in the Medicine Neurology Service Department at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Conduct electroencephalograms (EEG) on patients varying in age from birth to geriatric in the Laboratory and/or in the wards utilizing EEG and Electromyographic equipment.

Explain procedures, position the patient to insure patient comfort for optimal recording of the EEG.

Employ sterile techniques when conducting EEG procedures in all areas of the hospital.

Evaluate the technical capability and potential for clinical applications of equipment installed or being considered for purchase and conducts in-service training on new procedures or new equipment.

Troubleshoot during the performance of evoked potentials test to detect artifacts or other technical problems relating to recording of cortical wave forms

Answer telephone; schedule appointments and make preparations for emergencies.
