The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist independently performs a variety of diagnostic tests in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
This position will cross-train and work in the Chemistry and Hematology areas of the lab. The Chemistry Laboratory is highly automated and focuses on general chemistry, endocrine testing, tumor marker testing, serology, and special protein testing. Team members have a mix of experience and work together to complete large volumes of inpatient and outpatient chemistry testing across several instrument platforms. The environment is fast-paced and never short on interesting specimens to troubleshoot. The team can leverage middleware efficiencies, allowing them to focus on samples that truly require their attention and expertise. As a teaching hospital, learning and mentoring experiences are readily available for all technologists.
The Hematology Laboratory offers both routine and specialized hematology testing, and the hospital’s state-of-the-art Oncology and Hemophilia clinics provide the opportunity to perform high-complexity testing on unique cases. Testing in the hematology lab includes CBCs with differentials, urinalysis, body fluid cell counts and differentials, and coagulation. This lab makes extensive use of automation and middleware software, allowing techs to focus on the samples that require their expertise.
This is a 40-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible, evening-shift position working Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm. The evening shift receives a 10% shift differential. This position is required to work rotating weekends and holidays.
We are offering a $7500 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. *The bonus is available for external hires only and certain conditions apply.

Qualifications
- • AS degree and minimum of 4 years of Clinical Laboratory experience or Bachelors of Science Degree and minimum of 2 years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
- • Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience required.
- • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines and manage changing volumes. Basic knowledge of computer software systems.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT-AMT) or Technologist/Specialist in Chemistry (C-ASCP) or International Technologist in Microbiology (M-ASCP) or Technologist/Specialist in Blood Banking (BB-ASCP) or Specialist in Hematology (SH-ASCP) or International Specialist in Microbiology (SM-ASCP) within 365 days
