Medical Officer of Emergency Medicine (EM)

The Medical Officers of Emergency Medicine will be involved in the care of the patients within the Emergency Room. They will perform the guard shift under the supervision of a Specialist Medical Officer. They will conduct physical examinations, take patient medical histories and interpret the results of diagnostic tests. They will also cooperate to coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. Participation in research activities and health data collection will be mandatory.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• Can be a general practitioner, can be recently specialized or still attending the M.Med. in Emergency Medicine (or its equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Demonstrated professional experience of at least one (1) year in the Ugandan Healthcare System.
