Key Responsibilities
Clinical and Technical Support
- Support Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services involving diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
- Perform dosimetry calculations for diagnostic and radionuclide therapy procedures.
- Develop and optimize imaging and treatment protocols to enhance patient care and radiation safety.
- Provide technical consultation to physicians, radiopharmacists, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals.
Radiopharmaceutical Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs for radiopharmaceutical production and dispensing.
- Ensure radiopharmaceutical preparation complies with applicable regulatory and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
- Review and verify quality control results for radiopharmaceutical products.
- Investigate and document quality deviations and implement corrective actions where required.
Radiation Safety
- Monitor radiation protection practices within radiopharmaceutical laboratories and Nuclear Medicine facilities.
- Conduct radiation surveys, contamination monitoring, and shielding assessments.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and radiation protection standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of radiation safety policies and procedures.
- Support incident investigations and reporting related to radiation safety.
Equipment Management
- Perform acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and periodic performance evaluations of Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging equipment.
- Oversee quality control testing of gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators, well counters, and related equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors and service engineers for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations governing the use, storage, transport, and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Maintain accurate records for radiation monitoring, quality assurance, and regulatory inspections.
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections.
