Medical Scribe / Medical Assistant – PRN – Brooklyn Clinic
A community-focused private medical practice located in Bushwick, Brooklyn is seeking EXPERIENCED Medical Scribes / Medical Assistants to support our clinical providers on a PRN basis. This role primarily focuses on medical scribing and clinical documentation while also assisting with basic medical assistant duties as needed.
This position is ideal for candidates interested in gaining hands-on experience in clinical medicine, including pre-med, nursing, PA, or healthcare students seeking exposure to outpatient primary care.
POSITION DETAILS
Location: Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: PRN (as needed based on provider schedule)
Compensation: $17 per hour
Setting: Outpatient private practice / primary care clinic
QUALIFICATIONS
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED as a Medical Assistant and/or Medical Scribe
- Experience working with healthcare providers in a clinical or medical office setting
- Good typing, documentation, and charting skills
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems is preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and professionalism
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and/or Mandarin Chinese is a plus
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (MEDICAL SCRIBE)
- Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record in real time
- Record patient histories, physical exam findings, and provider assessments
- Assist providers with documentation of treatment plans and follow-up instructions
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of clinical notes
- Support providers in maintaining efficient patient flow
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (MEDICAL ASSISTANT SUPPORT)
- Assist with patient intake and rooming
- Record vital signs and update patient demographics
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Assist providers during examinations when needed
- Support overall clinic workflow and patient experience
