SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Greet patients and family members.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, good decision making, excellent communication skills within a busy medical office
  • Able to handle stressful situations with composure, professionalism
  • This position is located in Littleton and Lincoln NH
  • This is a part time position up to 24 hours per week
  • Will be trained to perform urine drug screen collection and breath alcohol collection as needed, and demonstrate independent proficiency within 4 months of hire
  • Assist the providers with the administrative aspects of their position to ensure the efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of peers, medical staff and all patient information.
  • Maintain provider appointment scheduling and any changes to their schedules.
  • Check patients in/out for their appointments.
  • Collect payments at time of service.
  • Verify insurance eligibility
  • Schedule patients for return appointments and appointments with other departments.
  • Inform patients of designated appointment times of any scheduled tests.
  • Confirm next day appointments.
  • Register patients for the patient portal
  • Update and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Receive, screen and/or deliver telephone messages in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Count petty cash drawer at closing.
  • May float to cover in other clinics as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Able to work a 12 hour shifts on weekdays and weekends with availability to work from 8AM to 8PM


REPORTS TO: Service Line Director and office manager


SUPERVISES: None


INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS:


Patients and families, insurance companies, hospital personnel, pharmaceutical representatives, other physician offices, nursing home personnel. co-workers


QUALIFICATIONS:


Experience/Specialized Skills:

Should have prior experience in a medical office. Should have working knowledge of medical terminology, work processing, data entry and have strong customer service skills. Must have good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet office needs. Must have the ability to interact well with people and handle stressful situations appropriately.

High school diploma or equivalent

Pleasant office surroundings. Occasionally subjected to stressful situations. May be exposed to communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens.

Must have good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload to meet office needs. Must possess the ability to interact well with people and deal with stressful situations appropriately.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Will also require bending or squatting.
