Medical Support Assistant (Advanced)

The MSA serves as an Advanced Level Medical Support Assistant in Radiology Service for the modalities of Computed Tomography (CT), General Diagnosis, Ultrasound, Bone Density, Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Vascular, and Nuclear Medicine. Columbus The Radiology Service is in the main building at the Columbus Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center.

Coordinates with the Radiology Team to review Radiology monitors and Performance Measures by using various reports provided in the Radiology Informatics System and make any necessary adjustments. Confirms and assure two patient identifiers and pertinent Radiology Order data such as laterality, reason for study, aligning with the procedure name, review of lab results Familiar with timeframes and special requirements for exam, i.e., contrast media, dietary preparation, laboratory testing spacing of sequential exams. Subject matter expert for Radiology scheduling and patient preparation for exams Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
