Medical Technician

About the Position: This position is located at General Leonard Wood Community Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Receive patient specimens of blood, urine, stool,microbiological and viral cultures, tissue, body fluids and cytological specimens.

Ensures proper documentation of patient identification and proper specimen identification in accordance with regulations.

Perform donor screening, health history assessments, and focused physical examinations of potential blood donors.

Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot all blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology analyzers, in addition to laboratory centrifuges.

Conduct necessary quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures.

Verify proper requests and correct specimens are received and submitted with all required information in correct container.
