  • Transcribes histopathology and cytology reports from dictated recordings, ensuring correct medical terminology, formatting, and documentation standards.

  • Edits and proofreads reports for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and completeness.

  • Enters tissue demographics, specimen information, and applicable charges into the billing system.

  • Verifies patient and specimen details to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.

  • Assists with routing completed reports to clients on a daily basis.

  • Answers telephone queries, provides appropriate assistance, and resolves documentation or report-related issues.

  • Communicates with pathologists to clarify unclear dictations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintains a retrievable, organized, and logical system for permanent record management.

  • Utilizes electronic health records (EHR), laboratory information systems (LIS), and other applicable systems for document management.

  • Ensures reports comply with organizational policies, medical documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Supports quality assurance initiatives by identifying errors and contributing to workflow improvements.

  • Performs other tasks, projects, and assignments as directed by the supervisor.
