We’re Hiring: Medior Backend Developer – Java/Kotlin & Spring Boot

Are you an experienced backend developer who enjoys building reliable, secure and future-proof integrations? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where technical expertise and a proactive mindset are equally valued?

For our PCM development team, we’re looking for a Medior Backend Developer to help develop and modernise HaMIS, a mission-critical system supporting the operational processes of the Harbour Master’s organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Develop new functionality using Spring Boot, Java and Kotlin
  • Build and optimise REST/SOAP integrations, messaging and event-driven architectures
  • Work with microservices, automated testing and clean architecture
  • Improve logging, monitoring, tracing and alerting
  • Analyse and resolve production incidents and disruptions
  • Contribute to technical solutions, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with developers, business consultants, testers and external stakeholders

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years of backend development experience with Java/Kotlin & Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of experience with microservices, system integrations, testing and production troubleshooting
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude
  • Good command of Dutch
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training
  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitLab, ActiveMQ, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, API lifecycle management or 24/7 mission-critical environments is a strong plus.
