Medior Data Engineer
Tasks
Managing day-to-day operations of Databricks data pipelines, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
Maintaining Delta Lake data layers (bronze / silver / gold), ensuring data availability, consistency, and smooth pipeline execution
Monitoring and supporting data pipeline operations (failures, delays, data quality issues)
Performing incident handling and root cause analysis for data platform issues
Optimizing Spark jobs, cluster performance, and platform cost usage
Implementing data observability (logging, monitoring, alerting)
Supporting CI/CD and deployment of data pipelines
Collaborating to ensure end-to-end data reliability and SLA adherence
Requirements
Education
University or college degree with specialization in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience
Experience
3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or similar role
Experience with distributed data processing (Apache Spark)
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Databricks)
Exposure to running and supporting production data pipelines
Experience troubleshooting data issues in live environments
Ability to work in a geo-distributed team with limited supervision
Professional and Technical Competencies
Hand-on Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Apache Spark
Understanding of Lakehouse architecture and Delta Lake
Knowledge of orchestration tools (ADF, Airflow, Databricks Workflows) and CI/CD tools
Understanding of monitoring and logging in data platforms (Datadog, Azure Monitor)
Strong programming skills (Python preferred, Java optional)
Professional usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence.
Basic understanding of data security and scalability principles
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
