Role Overview
The Medium Voltage Service Account Manager owns the sales, estimating, and production management of medium voltage and industrial service work in the Houston market, with accountability for meeting or beating margin targets. The role builds and holds long-term customer relationships, pursues new accounts along vertical lines, and supports business development on incoming leads.
Just as important, this person grows the department. The Account Manager trains, supervises, and motivates the technician team, maintains schedule and deadline performance, and makes sure every job is staffed, priced, and delivered the right way.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive sales, estimating, and production management for medium voltage and industrial service work to meet or beat margin
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing service customers
- Pursue new customers along vertical lines, including manufacturing, industrial, healthcare, and property management
- Support business development efforts on new leads and proposals
- Prepare accurate estimates, budgets, and forecasts for service projects
- Track labor, material, and job cost and correct course when performance drifts
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate technicians in the department
- Maintain schedule and deadline performance across all active service jobs
- Serve as the customer's primary point of contact from proposal through completion and collection
Required Background
- Proven experience in electrical service sales, estimating, or account management
- Working knowledge of medium voltage distribution, switchgear, and industrial power systems
- Demonstrated people, process, and performance management skills
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and customer acquisition experience
- Strong labor tracking, job cost, and scheduling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Established customer relationships in the Houston industrial or commercial market a plus
- Valid driver's license
