📋 Job Responsibilities
- Lead and drive new product development projects for the WSS engineering team — from conception through production — ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery to performance, reliability, and quality specifications.
- Manage a mix of multiple engineering projects across varying scope and complexity, coordinating cross-functional efforts across optical, mechanical, hardware, software, and manufacturing groups.
- Partner with technical managers to define program schedules, resource estimates, and proactively identify and mitigate technical and non-technical program risks.
- Serve as the communication bridge across project stakeholders — filtering critical information between technical teams and senior leadership, and leading decision-making on scope, budget, or timeline issues.
- Mentor junior project managers and maintain organized project documentation, while participating in post-project analysis to drive continuous improvement.

- Optical Communications: WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch), amplifier technology, passive optical components, integrated line cards
- Project Management Methodologies: Waterfall & Agile development, phase-gate reviews, product lifecycle management
- Tools: SAP, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), SmartSheet, Jira
- Cross-disciplinary Integration: Optical, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering coordination
Requirements
🎯 Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Software) or a related Optical, Communications, or Networking discipline.
- 5+ years of project management experience in new product development, with working knowledge of design, procurement, manufacturing, and test cycles.
- Proven experience managing global, cross-functional product development teams and translating customer requirements into clearly defined project scope.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin, with experience presenting project plans and status updates to senior management.
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies (phase-gate reviews) and project management tools (MS Office, SmartSheet, Jira, or similar); PMP certification is a plus.
