Member of Technical Staff (MTS): Applied AI
Summary
Leading Bird Company is building applied-AI systems that let business software reason and act, and this Member of Technical Staff role owns that work end to end: LLM agents, retrieval/memory and data pipelines, evaluations, and production reliability, mostly in Python or TypeScript.
Compensation: ₹60L – ₹60L • No equity
Build the technology that turns AI potential into business capability.
Employment: Full-time
Annual compensation: ₹60 lakh per year (INR 60,00,000).
What could a company accomplish if its software could understand how it works, reason through complex problems, and take action?
At Leading Bird Company, that question is our engineering agenda. We're building AI systems that transform how businesses operate, and we're looking for engineers who want to help define what those systems can do.
As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll build the intelligence, infrastructure, and product experiences behind that mission. You'll work on problems with open questions and real consequences: giving agents the right context, making their actions dependable, and creating software that improves as we learn from its use.
This is a role for someone who wants deep technical work, meaningful ownership, and a direct connection between what they build and what it makes possible.
Your mandate
Take an ambitious idea from "This should be possible" to "This works reliably in the real world."
Own the experiments, architecture, code, and engineering decisions that get it there.
What you'll build
- AI systems that understand and act. Develop agents that reason over business context, use tools, coordinate tasks, and execute workflows across enterprise systems.
- The foundations of useful intelligence. Build retrieval, memory, context management, and data pipelines that give AI the information it needs to make better decisions.
- A rigorous path from experiment to production. Design evaluations, investigate failure modes, and improve systems against evidence.
- Infrastructure that earns trust. Engineer for reliability, observability, security, latency, and cost. Make complex behaviour understandable and failures recoverable.
- Products people can use intuitively. Work across backend services and user experiences to make powerful capabilities accessible.
- Engineering that compounds. Turn successful experiments into reusable systems, thoughtful abstractions, and a stronger technical foundation for the team.
You'll thrive here if
- You have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping systems that people use.
- You explore AI by building: agents, applications, tools, experiments, or open-source contributions.
- You can reason clearly about APIs, databases, distributed systems, and the trade-offs behind a technical design.
- You're comfortable working in Python or TypeScript and learning whatever a problem requires.
- You can turn an unclear problem into a focused experiment, then turn the result into maintainable software.
- You care about the details: an unreliable tool call, a weak evaluation, or an unexplained performance regression is something you want to understand.
- You bring independent judgment, communicate clearly, and make the engineers around you better.
Experience with LLM applications, retrieval systems, agent infrastructure, developer tools, or enterprise software would be valuable. Strong evidence of building and learning matters more than a particular career path.
Why this role
You'll have room to go deep, ownership to make consequential technical decisions, and exposure to the real business problems your systems must solve. Your work will help shape our core technology, engineering culture, and product direction.
