Overview

Compiled Health is a clinical AI research company. We are building a future where the standard of care is executable: where what medicine knows is what medicine does, at every visit, in every setting. The accumulated, evidence-graded knowledge of medicine still lives in documents built to be read, not executed. We compile that knowledge into decision artifacts that are measurable against the standard, deterministic where they must be, and traceable to their source evidence. Our compiler is live in clinical production today: clinicians in public health networks act on its recommendations every day.

About the Role

A compiled standard becomes useful when it survives contact with a real chart. The system must obtain the right patient facts, identify what is missing, execute the correct artifact version, explain the result, and fit inside a live clinical workflow while preserving the evidence beneath every recommendation.

You will build that layer, from clinician-facing product through interoperability and production infrastructure. The work changes altitude frequently: an interface decision may expose a problem in the data model; an integration failure may require a platform abstraction; an edge case in production may reveal a missing compiler invariant. You will own problems through design, implementation, deployment, and operational learning.

What You'll Do

  • Build the clinician-facing product and the services that evaluate, deliver, and explain compiled decision artifacts.

  • Develop integrations that assemble patient context and place recommendations inside clinical workflows.

  • Design the production guarantees around artifact versioning, provenance, execution traces, observability, rollout, and rollback.

  • Work across frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure, investigating difficult failures wherever they originate.

  • Turn bespoke deployments into reusable product capabilities without flattening local clinical differences, and bring production evidence back into product and compiler development.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • A record of shipping high-quality production software end to end and remaining accountable for its behavior after release.

  • Excellent engineering fundamentals, meaningful depth in one part of the stack, and the range to work outside it.

  • Experience with complex external integrations, data models, or operational workflows.

  • Strong product judgment and care for clarity, latency, cognitive load, and the details of user interaction.

  • Experience building reliable systems with disciplined testing, observability, security, and release practices.

  • The ability to direct your own work and communicate precisely with clinicians, researchers, and external partners.

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience with FHIR, HL7, EHRs, clinical workflows, or healthcare data.

  • Experience in regulated software or another safety-critical domain.

  • Experience with compilers, rules engines, workflow engines, or rigorously evaluated ML products.

Logistics

  • Location: This role is remote, with offsites multiple times per year.

  • Work authorization: You must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada. We are not able to sponsor visas at this time.

  • Benefits: Compiled Health offers health, dental, and vision benefits, flexible PTO, and paid parental leave.

We are an equal opportunity employer and evaluate candidates on merit alone.
