Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is seeking a Membership Manager to join its local council! Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines represents 41 counties within North Carolina. Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines, in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA, has a mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.


The Membership Manager is responsible for developing strategy and executing set objectives to increase girl and adult membership through effective recruitment and retention. The Manager demonstrates strong leadership skills in ensuring a robust infrastructure is in place for the delivery of high-quality Girl Scout programs in the community through volunteers. The Membership Manager also mentors and shares expertise on strategies and tactics with volunteers and staff. Frequent travel within Cumberland East and Robeson Counties is required.


The annual salary range for this position is $42,000 - $47,000, commensurate with experience.


This is a hybrid role, NOT a fully remote position. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina, specifically within our council’s 41-county service footprint within close proximity to Cumberland and Robeson Counties.



MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and execute tactical outreach, marketing, and re-engagement strategies to meet girl and adult membership goals in assigned territories.
  • Build collaborative relationships with community leaders, schools, businesses, and donors to market program opportunities and diversify membership.
  • Lead specific membership campaigns and leverage demographic data to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Identify, appoint, and evaluate qualified adult volunteers to lead local Girl Scout pathways and troops.
  • Ensure volunteer teams have access to current resources, training, conflict-resolution support, and enrichment opportunities to deliver high-quality programming.
  • Serve as a lead trainer and mentor to colleagues, assisting in the creation and delivery of staff and volunteer development programs.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of GSUSA guidelines, curriculum, and council policies to ensure compliant program delivery.
  • Partner with executive leadership on regional council-wide initiatives, fundraising programs (including the Annual Cookie Sale and Fall Product Program), and diverse community outreach.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to share resources, track progress against goals, and regularly refine operational strategies.
