MEP Design Engineer
We are looking for a skilled MEP Design Engineer to support the design, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems across high-end residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects.
This role requires strong coordination with architectural and interior design teams to ensure that all MEP systems are seamlessly integrated within SBA’s design vision, while maintaining efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. MEP Design & Planning
- Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
- Develop MEP layouts aligned with architectural and interior drawings.
- Perform load calculations (HVAC, electrical load, water demand, etc.).
- Ensure optimized routing without compromising design intent.
2. Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate closely with architectural, interior, and structural teams.
- Resolve clashes between MEP services and design elements.
- Ensure seamless integration of services in double-height spaces, basements, terraces, and luxury interiors.
3. Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare GFC (Good for Construction) drawings for all MEP services.
- Create detailed shop drawings and coordinated service layouts.
- Maintain updated documentation as per revisions and site conditions.
4. Site Support & Execution
- Provide technical support during execution stages.
- Conduct site visits to verify installations and resolve on-site issues.
- Ensure execution aligns with approved drawings and specifications.
5. Vendor & Consultant Coordination
- Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Review BOQs, technical submittal, and shop drawings from vendors.
- Ensure quality standards and timelines are maintained.
6. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, fire safety norms, and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate for approvals where required.
Requirements
Key Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP design (preferably in residential / hospitality projects).
- Strong knowledge of:
- HVAC systems (VRV/VRF, chilled water systems)
- Electrical systems (load distribution, lighting, earthing)
- Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, STP concepts)
- Fire fighting systems
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Revit / BIM (preferred)
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a design-driven, fast-paced studio environment.
Preferred Qualities
- Experience in luxury residential or resort-scale projects.
- Understanding of design sensitivity and spatial aesthetics (critical for SBA projects).
- Ability to work on multi-disciplinary projects with high attention to detail.
