We are looking for an experienced MEP Procurement Engineer with a strong background in the Construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the procurement of MEP materials and equipment while ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost-effective purchasing.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of MEP materials, equipment, and services for construction projects.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and the MEP team regarding material requirements.
- Review material specifications, BOQs, drawings, and technical requirements before procurement.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).
- Monitor material delivery schedules and ensure timely supply to project sites.
- Follow up with suppliers on pending deliveries and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Maintain supplier and procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- Identify cost-effective procurement solutions without compromising quality and project specifications.
- Coordinate with the Accounts and Stores departments regarding invoices, deliveries, and material receipts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with MEP suppliers and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP Procurement.
- Mandatory experience in the Construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and suppliers.
- Experience in sourcing materials related to HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
- Good knowledge of BOQs, technical specifications, and material submittals.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement-related documentation.
- Experience with ERP/procurement software will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- UAE/GCC construction and MEP procurement experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE MEP supplier and vendor market will be an advantage.
- Candidates currently available in the UAE and able to join immediately or within a short notice period are preferred.
