Job Title: Merchandiser

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Merchandiser to support the execution of in-store merchandising strategies across a network of retail outlets. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing product visibility, maintaining strong brand presence, ensuring compliance with merchandising standards, and building positive relationships with store personnel to drive sales performance.

This role requires an individual who understands retail operations, can effectively manage multiple outlets, and has a proven track record of maintaining high merchandising standards while identifying opportunities to improve product placement, availability, and promotional execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit assigned retail outlets according to established routes and schedules.
• Ensure products are consistently well stocked, properly displayed, and presented in accordance with company and client merchandising standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional displays, and point of sale (POS) materials accurately and on time.
• Secure and maintain optimal shelf space, display locations, and brand visibility within assigned outlets.
• Monitor stock levels and proactively communicate low stock, out of stock, and replenishment requirements.
• Rotate stock using FIFO principles and monitor product freshness and expiry dates.
• Ensure shelves, coolers, display units, and promotional materials remain clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Remove outdated, damaged, or unauthorized promotional materials and replace them with approved communications.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with store managers, supervisors, and department personnel.
• Identify merchandising opportunities, competitive activity, and market trends and provide feedback to management.
• Conduct regular audits of product placement, pricing, promotions, and display compliance.
• Accurately complete outlet reports, merchandising records, and photographic evidence through the company's reporting platform.
• Address and report customer concerns, product issues, and merchandising challenges in a timely manner.
• Ensure all merchandising activities are executed in accordance with company policies and client expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' merchandising experience within the FMCG, retail, beverage, consumer goods, or distribution sectors.
• Proven experience managing multiple retail accounts and route-based merchandising schedules.
• Strong understanding of planograms, retail execution standards, shelf management, and promotional display setup.
• Experience working with mobile reporting systems and digital merchandising platforms.
• Ability to analyze stock levels and identify opportunities to improve product availability and sales.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in completing reports accurately and on time.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation would be an asset.
