Merchandising Intern

Jordan's, the leading furniture retailer in New England, is looking for an aspiring Merchandising Intern to join our team and gain exposure to the exciting world of buying, planning, product selection, and visual merchandising.
Through our "Furnish Your Future" Intern Development Program, you'll kick off your career by learning the ins and outs of merchandising in a fast-paced retail environment. Working alongside our Buying, Planning, and Design teams, you'll gain hands-on experience analyzing sales trends, evaluating product assortments, researching market opportunities, and supporting the visual presentation of our showrooms. You'll also learn how merchandising decisions influence the customer experience and drive business results.
Our ideal candidate is a rising college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design, or a related field. If you are passionate about retail, design, data, and consumer trends, this is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience with an industry leader.

This is a 10-week paid internship, starting June 7th 2026 based in East Taunton, MA, with opportunities to visit retail store locations throughout New England.

What You'll Do
Buying Support
Assist the Buying team in analyzing sales trends, customer preferences, and market opportunities.
Support seasonal buying trips, vendor meetings, and product reviews.
Review sales performance reporting and evaluate new merchandise samples.
Learn the product lifecycle from assortment planning to showroom execution.
Planning Assistance
Collaborate with the Planning team to support inventory management and forecasting efforts.
Analyze historical sales and inventory data to identify trends and replenishment opportunities.
Gain exposure to assortment planning and product allocation strategies.
Design & Visual Merchandising
Partner with the Design team to learn showroom planning and visual merchandising processes.
Assist in creating visual displays and in-store presentations that enhance the customer experience.
Develop mood boards and trend inspiration materials to support product selection.
Market Research & Analysis
Conduct competitor analysis and research industry and consumer trends.
Provide insights and recommendations to help inform merchandising decisions.
Project & Administrative Support
Participate in showroom walk-throughs and document merchandising opportunities.
Assist with reports, presentations, vendor communication, and cross-functional projects.
Lead a summer-long merchandising project and present your findings and recommendations to company leadership.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Who You Are
Rising college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design, or a related field.
Passionate about retail, consumer trends, product strategy, and design.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
A proactive, self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Previous retail, design, merchandising, or customer service experience is a plus.
Pay Range: $23.00 per hour
We share our pay range because transparency matters. This reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role based on experience and performance.
