Messaging & Collaboration Team Lead
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly technical Messaging & Collaboration Team Lead to architect, manage, and optimize our enterprise communications infrastructure. You will define technical strategy, manage architecture, and serve as the definitive L4 technical authority for L2 and L3 engineering teams in a massive, high-volume environment (100,000+ users).
Core Responsibilities
Architecture & Platform Management
Architect, support, and optimize Microsoft Exchange (On-Premises, Online, Hybrid), SharePoint (On-Premises, Online), and Microsoft Teams.
Manage Azure AD (Entra ID) synchronizations, conditional access policies, and enterprise Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Maintain robust mail transport rules, highly available SMTP routing, and enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
Lead architectural reviews to ensure security, cost efficiency, and scalability across messaging and collaboration environments.
Automation & Engineering
Write, review, and optimize advanced custom PowerShell modules.
Utilize the Microsoft Graph API for large-scale data processing and administrative automation.
Technical Leadership & Operations
Serve as the L4 escalation point for complex, high-severity incidents, conducting root-cause analysis for issues L2/L3 teams cannot resolve.
Oversee daily operations, including shift rosters, patching schedules, and incident escalation paths.
Develop technical documentation, runbooks, and KB articles to upskill and empower L2/L3 support teams.
Essential Technical Skills
Core Stack: Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microsoft 365, Exchange (SE/Online), SharePoint, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
Identity & Security: Deep operational knowledge of Azure AD (Entra ID), Azure AD Connect, and enterprise directory services.
Scripting: Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
Scale: Proven experience architecting and migrating systems in massive, complex enterprise environments.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of dedicated experience in enterprise messaging/collaboration engineering.
Leadership: 2+ years in a technical leadership or delivery role, with demonstrated experience structurally supporting and mentoring L2/L3 operations.
