Metal Fabricator

We're seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to produce high-quality metal roofing trims, edge metal systems, and specialty components. This role supports accurate, on-time orders through careful verification, safe equipment operation, quality checks, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify before cutting: Double-check trim orders, dimensions, quantities, and all associated notes and special instructions before beginning fabrication. Do not begin production when information is missing, unclear, or
• conflicting; obtain clarification and approval first.
• Fabricate metal roofing trims, edge metal systems, and specialty components to approved specifications; work carefully to reduce errors and material waste.
• Count flat sheets during production, keep pallet quantities current, and assist with inventory counts and material organization.
• Complete assigned work by the end of the scheduled workday and meet production deadlines for shipment or pickup.
• Perform final quality checks for dimensions, quantities, workmanship, and material condition before orders leave for the job site.
• Clear completed orders in the computer system, accurately label pallets, and wrap or secure pallets for shipment when needed.
• Clearly document any approved changes on trim orders and promptly report changes, errors, shortages, equipment concerns, or delays to the Fabrication Manager.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors, ask questions when needed, and provide professional customer service during occasional in-person interactions.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; operate equipment properly and perform routine cleaning and basic machine maintenance in accordance with company procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of roofing installation procedures and roofing components; metal roofing knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with sheet metal or related fabrication equipment, or the ability to learn through training.
• Ability to read measurements and written instructions accurately, learn quickly, take useful training notes, and refer to them independently.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Dependable attendance, accountability for work quality, and willingness to take direction and complete additional assigned tasks.
• Ability to safely handle materials weighing 50 pounds or more with appropriate assistance or equipment, and perform the physical duties of a fabrication/warehouse environment.
• Availability for occasional overtime during peak production periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a sheet metal brake, especially for roofing trim and flashing.
• Previous roofing, building products, warehouse, or metal fabrication experience.
• Forklift experience or current certification; equipment operation requires company authorization.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
