We are currently searching for a Metal Framing Fabricator position is responsible for safely and accurately setting up the equipment (miter saws, drill presses, vertical mills) and performing the operations needed to operate handle, drill, notch, saw, weld, weatherstrip, machine operation, package metal components and subassemblies. The employee work from design specifications, patterns, and drawings, using a variety of tools and machines to make metal parts and/or perform some assembly within the company quality manual standards.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and securely move required materials through the various stages of the product life cycle as outlined in the process workflow. This is completed under direction of the department supervisor.
• Properly setup the equipment/machinery and verify that:
  1. All safety devices and measures are active and in place.
  2. The equipment/machine is operating properly.
  3. All gages, stops, etc. are working properly to ensure that the parts will be processed in accordance with the QC and design requirements.
• Position metal components against dimensional stops, secure with clamping systems, and perform the operation designated by the work center.
• Perform the required QC check on each component to ensure that it complies with the design and drawing specifications by conducting visual and dimensional examinations.
• Ensure that all counts of finished products are correct and marked or tagged with the proper identifying marks, as required.
• Report any defective parts to the area Supervisor.
• Properly stack and secure all fabricated metal parts with the and deliver to the next workstation, as defined by the process workflow.
• Always maintain and clean and safe work area.

Qualifications:

• Candidate should have a prior 2+ years related work experience in a related trade, as well as a basic knowledge of the different types of fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in safely operating punching, notching, drilling and other forming machinery.
• Ability to use and understand basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to count accurately and record production data.
• Ability to operate an electric or propane-powered sit-down forklift safely and effectively is a plus, though not required.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate shapes, sizes, and colors.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle and feel.
• Ability to frequently sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
