Metal Finishing Production Associate

The Production Associate positions are responsible for the preparation and/or finishing of all steel products being galvanized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify worn or damaged production fixtures, chains, and hooks and facilitating proper repair or discarding irreparable items
• Hand wiring parts to racks for pickling and galvanizing
• Wrapping chains and ropes around steel bundles
• Lift and move steel parts by hand to relocate them, hang them for galvanizing or remove them from fixtures for finishing ( 40- 60 lbs)
• Remove excess zinc and/or ash from steel after it is galvanized
• Use power tools to help prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing as well as finish products
• Conduct ongoing safety inspections
• Housekeeping of area worked in and surrounding areas as assigned
• Inspect material for proper preparation and quality

Schedule is 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a

Work hours assigned including weekend overtime as required .

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing production environment
• Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated
• Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks
• Team oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• · High School Diploma/GED
• · Forklift Experience
