Metallic Machining Manager

We are looking for an exceptional Metallic Machining Manager to lead our high-performance Metallic Manufacturing team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a world-class machining operation, delivering precision-engineered components that support race, development and production programmes in one of the most demanding manufacturing environments. In this role you will lead a skilled, multi-functional team across multiple shifts, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and technical innovation.
  • Lead the Metallic Machining function to deliver outstanding safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that improve productivity, lead times, capacity and operational efficiency.
  • Own departmental KPIs, ensuring production, utilisation, on-time delivery and quality targets are consistently achieved.
  • Manage resources across people, machines, tooling and shifts to maximise manufacturing capability.
  • Work closely with Design, Production Engineering, CAM, Quality and Production Control to optimise manufacturability and reduce lead times.
  • Support strategic make-versus-buy decisions, ensuring the best balance of capability, cost and delivery.
  • Inspire, coach and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine utilisation, OEE, throughput and overall performance.
  • Lead investment projects involving new machinery, technology and process implementation.
  • Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety, environmental compliance and operational risk management.
  • Proven experience leading CNC machining operations within Formula One, motorsport, aerospace, defence or another high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining, including 5-axis machining, tooling strategies, fixtures and process optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of CAD/CAM systems and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience producing complex, high-precision components to demanding quality and delivery requirements.
  • A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience managing production planning, capacity and resource allocation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders across Engineering, Production, Quality and Senior Leadership.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects from selection through to commissioning and integration.
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety and creating a proactive safety culture.
