Job Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Category Manager to lead category sourcing strategies in Machining/Metals across our China operations. This role is responsible for driving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and supply continuity while supporting regional and global business objectives.
You will own end-to-end category management in China while working for the global leader of this category.
Job Requirements
Category Strategy Development
- Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with global and regional business goals
- Analyze supply markets, cost structures, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization, and supply base optimization
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
- Manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, innovation)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in China and Asia
Cost Management & Optimization
- Drive annual cost reduction targets through:
- Negotiations
- Resourcing and dual sourcing
- Value engineering and design collaboration
- Develop should-cost models and benchmarking analysis
What your background should look like
Required
- College degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
- Strong experience managing suppliers within China/Asia markets
- Proven track record delivering cost savings and supplier improvements
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
Preferred
- Experience in electronics, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong negotiation and contract management experience
- Experience working in a global matrix organization
