Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager at Chilton Medical Center to oversee daily operations of our hospital-based rehabilitation services, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology. This leader will ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a small community hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of inpatient rehabilitation services
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care
  • Monitor patient flow, staffing levels, and productivity to meet operational goals
  • Collaborate with nursing, case management, and medical staff to support discharge planning and throughput
  • Supports clinical staff with planning appropriate methods of treatment as determined by patient need and departmental standards, utilizing safe and effective means of treatment.
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of policies and procedures across rehabilitation services department. Ensures conformity to patient care standards.

Team Management & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and support a multidisciplinary rehab team (PT, OT, SLP, assistants, and aides)
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care

Quality & Performance Improvement

  • Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and key performance indicators
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)
  • Support implementation of best practices and standardization of care pathways

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage department budget, staffing, and resource utilization
  • Analyze productivity and adjust staffing models to meet patient care demands
  • Partner with leadership on service line development and growth opportunities

Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between rehabilitation services and hospital leadership
  • Foster strong interdisciplinary relationships across departments
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare (PT, OT, or SLP) is required, MS/PhD, strongly preferred
  2. Valid NJ PT, OT or SLP license is required
  3. Leadership experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred
  4. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or a related field is preferred
  5. Advanced clinical practice designation evidenced by Board Certification or Advanced Degree attainment of specialization is preferred
  6. Minimum of 3 years managerial experience is strongly preferred
