Microbiologist
Job Description
- Uphold the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspects of the company.
- Perform microbiological testing on routine and non-routine samples according to established SOPs and client requirements within stipulated holding time and TAT.
- Prepare culture media, reagents, and laboratory supplies in accordance with quality standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in good condition to ensure functionality and longevity.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality systems, including GLP, ISO 17025, and SINGLAS standards.
- Perform internal QC duties timely manner.
- Participate and pass any required proficiency test and interlaboratory analysis.
- Actively participate in execution of method validation, method verification, and continuous improvement activities as assigned by Senior Microbiologists, Principal Microbiologist and/or Lab Manager.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and follow biosafety procedures at all times.
- Always ensure laboratory cleanliness by performing daily and scheduled housekeeping of the laboratory, equipment and apparatus.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, and stock levels by utilizing laboratory supplies meticulously to avoid wastage.
- Escalate difficulties, issues, and concerns to the immediate higher level of authority, such as Senior Microbiologists, Principal Microbiologist or Lab Manager.
- Any additional job or/and task assigned by Senior Microbiologists, Principal Microbiologist and/or Lab Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Biological Science, Microbiology, or equivalent.
- At least 1-year relevant experience in laboratory, excluding internship.

- Good communication skill, personality and teamwork oriented.
- Dynamic and adaptable to change in schedule, operations and requirements at short notice
- Good command in English both written and spoken.
- Good analytical skills and understanding of scientific writing.
