Microbiologist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Microbiologist for the Public Health Command, West (PHC,W) Food Analysis and Diagnostic Laboratory (FADL) Microbiology Section. This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Reviews laboratory workload to establish testing priorities and coordinate microbiological analyses based on sample requirements.

Analyzes microbiological data to evaluate test results, identify abnormal findings, and ensure results meets established standards.

Implement laboratory procedures to evaluate testing methods, update procedures, and support laboratory operations.

Performs quality assurance activities to review testing results and maintain records.

Operates laboratory systems to document testing, track workload, and prepare reports.
