We’re seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to operate behind the scenes, focusing on security, complex escalations, and assigned project work. This is not a frontline, client-facing, or leadership role. It’s designed for someone who prefers deep technical work over meetings and noise. You’ll work as a back-of-house escalation specialist, reporting to the Operations Manager.
We’re seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to operate behind the scenes, focusing on security, complex escalations, and assigned project work. This is not a frontline, client-facing, or leadership role. It’s designed for someone who prefers deep technical work over meetings and noise. You’ll work as a back-of-house escalation specialist, reporting to the Operations Manager.
Your time will be split approximately:
- 60% Microsoft 365 security & escalation BAU
- 40% planned project delivery (e.g., SharePoint and security uplift work)
There is no on-call, no after-hours, and no presales or account management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resolve complex Microsoft 365 security and identity issues escalated from the service desk.
- Design, adjust, and troubleshoot:
- Entra ID / Azure AD (MFA, Conditional Access, access models)
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365
- Secure mail flow and phishing protections
- Deliver assigned projects such as SharePoint Online migrations and tenant security uplift.
- Perform root-cause analysis and document outcomes for operational handover.
- Improve internal standards, runbooks, and repeatability across client environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 in an MSP or multi-tenant environment.
- Proven capability with Entra ID, Conditional Access, and M365 security tooling.
- SharePoint Online administration and migration experience.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Clear documentation and practical problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft certifications are welcome but not essential.
