A well-established technology services provider is looking for an experienced Microsoft Cloud Engineer to join its growing Brisbane team.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of organisations, helping customers design, implement and optimise secure, scalable Microsoft environments. You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to deployment, support and ongoing improvement.
This role would suit someone who enjoys a mix of project work, customer engagement and hands-on technical delivery.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the cloud and infrastructure team, you will work closely with clients to modernise workplace technology, improve security posture and drive greater value from Microsoft investments.
You'll contribute to technical projects, customer advisory engagements and operational improvements while supporting a wide variety of cloud-first environments.
Key Duties
- Deliver Microsoft cloud and modern workplace solutions for customers.
- Lead or contribute to cloud transformation and migration projects.
- Configure, maintain and optimise Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Support identity, security and endpoint management initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with solution architecture, technical discovery and project planning.
- Produce high-quality documentation, implementation plans and knowledge articles.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across cloud platforms.
- Work collaboratively with project, service delivery and sales teams.
Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Microsoft-focused infrastructure, cloud or systems engineering role.
- Strong technical knowledge across:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Intune
- Entra ID
- Microsoft Defender
- PowerShell
- Experience managing cloud migrations, upgrades and transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of modern identity, security and device management principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Australian working rights are essential.
Highly Regarded
Experience with any of the following will be beneficial:
- Windows Server
- Virtualisation technologies
- Networking and firewalls
- Automation and scripting
- Container technologies
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- CI/CD and infrastructure automation
Certifications
Microsoft certifications are viewed favourably but are not a pre-requisite:
- AZ-104 Azure Administrator
- MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator
- AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect
- MD-102 Endpoint Administrator
- SC-200 Security Operations Analyst
- ITIL Foundation
Equivalent commercial experience will also be highly regarded.
