Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations-Technical Solution Architect

About the role

The Technical Solution Architect (D365 FO) serves as the overall technical authority across enterprise transformation initiatives. In this role, you will define the end-to-end technical strategy, data architecture, integration landscape, and governance standards for complex Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management implementations. You will bridge business requirements and engineering execution, collaborating with functional architects, enterprise IT teams, and C-level stakeholders to design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with Microsoft FastTrack and enterprise architecture standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall technical design, integration topography, data lifecycle, and security model across global/multi-entity D365 F&O deployments.

• Review Functional Design Documents (FDDs) from functional consultants, evaluate architectural viability, challenge out-of-the-box deviations, and author comprehensive Technical Design Documents (TDDs).

• Architect scalable, resilient integration patterns connecting D365FO to enterprise middleware, legacy databases, and cloud services using Azure Integration Services, Business Events, Dataverse, and Dual-write.

• Design high-volume data migration pipelines (DMF/DIXF) and operational data export patterns (Azure Synapse Link / Microsoft Fabric).

• Design and build AI agents for clients using D365 MCP and related tooling, to automate workflows, surface insights, and improve the end user experience within D365FO.

• Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and propose technical solutions.

• Develop complex, high-risk, or high-performance customizations and frameworks in X++.

• Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to technical architecture decisions.

About you

• Proven hands-on experience developing in D365 Finance & Operations using X++

• Solid understanding of the D365FO architecture, including AOT, extensions model, and the Application Object Tree

• Demonstrable experience acting simultaneously as a Technical Architect (authoring TDDs, designing integrations) and a Hands-on Lead Developer (writing production X++, troubleshooting code).

• Familiarity with D365FO integration tools (Data Management Framework, OData, custom services, Business Events)

• Prior success leading development pods, reviewing code, setting engineering standards, and upskilling junior engineers.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related field

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on technical deliverables

• Good communication skills in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus

• Interest in AI-driven solutions and willingness to learn and build AI agents using D365 MCP
