Microsoft SQL Server Production DBA

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across Production, UAT, and Training environments.
  • Perform SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades to ensure stable database environments.
  • Monitor database health and performance, troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks, and long-running queries.
  • Configure and manage High Availability solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, clustering, and transactional replication.
  • Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to meet RPO and RTO requirements.
  • Support data migration, database refreshes, and import/export operations across different environments.
  • Manage SQL Server security, including logins, roles, permissions, and database auditing policies.
  • Maintain SQL Server Agent jobs, database maintenance plans, and automation scripts for routine operational tasks.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 / 2017 / 2019 / 2022).
  • Experience managing Production database environments with high availability and performance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, SQL Server Clustering, or Replication.
  • Strong knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, and database maintenance strategies.
  • Good experience with T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Experience with SSIS, SQL Server Agent Jobs, and data migration utilities (BCP / Import Wizard).
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools, automation scripting, or cloud platforms (Azure SQL / AWS RDS).
