Ignite Digital Services is hiring a Data Engineer to independently build and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure in support of a large federal enterprise multi-domain data ecosystem. You will operate with autonomy, drive innovation, and contribute to mission-critical data solutions, while delivering within a larger team project management environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and core infrastructure.
- Develop efficient data processing and transformation workflows.
- Create and maintain data models, schemas and transformation logic to support analytics requirements.
- Integrate diverse data sources (APIs, databases, cloud storage) into unified datasets.
- Implement robust validation, monitoring, and observability processes.
- Contribute to data governance, security, and automation initiatives.
- Leverage AWS, Databricks, and related technologies for cloud-native solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security teams.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and PySpark.
- Experience with cloud-based ETL services (e.g. AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Familiarity with Databricks, Palantir, Snowflake, and data warehousing technologies.
- Strong understanding of data orchestration and quality processes.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Hadoop/Spark, NiFi, ELK stack or comparable technologies.
- Data engineering certification (e.g. Azure, Google, IBM, Palantir).
- Experience working with federal clients.
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen, Secret or TS/SCI eligible.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
- 3+ years relevant professional experience.
- Intermediate certifications (Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP); or advanced certifications (SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, CISSP).
Work Location: National Capital Region
- On-client site with potential for hybrid telework.
Internal Salary Guidance:
- Maximum salary for T&M Rate card: $130,000
