Project Overview
The project involves the development, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications for a large European public institution. The Full-stack Engineer will be responsible for delivering end-to-end software solutions across frontend interfaces, backend services, database systems, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high standards of performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Technical Environment
The project uses a broad technology stack covering:
- Frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, React, Vue, Vaadin 7, Bootstrap.
- Backend: Java 8/17, Spring Boot, JEE, EJB, CDI, JMS, Hibernate JPA, Node.js, PHP.
- APIs and integration: REST, Kafka, Protobuf, JAX-WS, JAXB, OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Databases: Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Flyway.
- Application servers: Oracle WebLogic 12c and 14.
- Build tools: Maven, Webpack, Vite.
- Testing: JUnit 4, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
- Version control: Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, GitFlow, trunk-based development, SVN.
- Cloud and DevOps: AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, CI/CD.
- Security: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, secure coding practices.
- Project management and AI tools: JIRA, GitHub Copilot, Kiro.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced Full-stack Engineer with a relevant university degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework and at least five years of professional IT experience. The candidate should possess strong full-stack development skills, experience with enterprise application architectures, databases, API integrations, cloud technologies, and application security.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, proficiency in English at B2 level or higher, and the ability to produce clear technical specifications for AI coding agents are essential. The candidate should also understand the limitations of AI-generated code and be able to review and validate AI-assisted development outputs.
- University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a master’s level or 5 years of higher education), and a minimum 5 years of IT professional experience
- Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2
- Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with frameworks/libraries including Vaadin 7, Angular, React, Vue, and Bootstrap.
- Expertise in Java 8/17 and back-end stacks (Java/Node/PHP), including JEE (EJB 3, CDI, JMS), Spring Boot, and Hibernate JPA.
- Advanced experience in designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services using Kafka, Protobuf, JAX-WS, JAXB, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Proficiency with Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, including schema design, query optimization, and version control with Flyway.
- Strong understanding of application servers, specifically Weblogic 12c and 14.
- Experience with modern build and dependency management tools such as Maven, Webpack, and Vite.
- Solid background in automated testing and related tooling, e.g., JUnit 4 and Mockito.
- Expert knowledge of Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) using GitLab and Bitbucket, with an understanding of legacy systems using SVN.
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep for environment provisioning.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment. Deep knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT).
- Proven experience working within Agile methodologies and using JIRA for task and project management.
- Ability to write clear, structured technical specifications for AI code agents (e.g., Kiro, GitHub Copilot).
