Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model.
As a Mid-Level Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global bank’s IT organization. You will join a dynamic team dedicated to optimizing cloud resource utilization and reducing infrastructure costs across multiple cloud platforms. Your expertise will help shape innovative strategies for cost management and operational excellence in a fast-paced, enterprise environment, fostering impactful technological transformations and career growth.
Your main responsibilities:
- Operate across multi-cloud production environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), managing live workloads to analyze logging patterns, identify pain points, and understand cost drivers.
- Utilize native cloud logging and monitoring services (CloudWatch/CloudTrail, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, GCP Cloud Logging) and ensure integration with SIEM and observability tools.
- Query and analyze log data using KQL, CloudWatch Logs Insights, SQL/BigQuery to detect trends, anomalies, and gaps.
- Design and enhance logging architecture and lifecycle management, including retention policies, tiering, and compliance controls.
- Drive storage and logging cost optimization by tuning retention, applying filtering/sampling, tiering to lower-cost storage, and implementing compression and partitioning strategies.
- Develop and present quantifiable cost-saving proposals, including baseline vs. target analysis, assumptions, and potential recurring or one-off impacts.
- Communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations and FinOps across two or more public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of native logging/monitoring services and their integration with SIEM and observability solutions.
- Proven ability to query, analyze, and troubleshoot log data using KQL, CloudWatch Logs Insights, SQL, or BigQuery.
- Solid understanding of logging architecture, lifecycle management, retention policies, tiering, and compliance considerations.
- Experience in identifying and implementing cost reduction strategies for cloud logging and storage.
- Capacity to produce well-supported optimization proposals with clear analysis, assumptions, and forecasted savings.
- Excellent communication skills suitable for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with automation and scripting related to cost management.
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance standards.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English language skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
