Mid-Level Data Engineer

About the role

The Mid-Level Data Engineer builds and runs data pipelines and analytics on Google Cloud Platform. This person works mainly on telecommunications data, such as wireline and wireless customer and marketing data, and turns it into reliable datasets for marketing and analytics teams. The role works day to day with senior engineers and the marketing domain leads.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain batch and scheduled data pipelines on GCP, moving data into BigQuery.

• Write and optimize SQL for transformations, reporting datasets, and validation checks.

• Write Python for data ingestion, automation, and data quality checks.

• Support data migrations, including validating migrated data against the source system.

• Work with telecommunications data, such as customer, product, and campaign records, and document how it is defined and used.

• Connect pipeline outputs to marketing platforms, such as Salesforce, Adobe, and AJO.

• Troubleshoot failed jobs and data issues, and keep runbooks up to date.

• Contribute to team training and capstone projects on marketing domain knowledge.

Qualifications

Required

• 3 to 5 years of data engineering or analytics experience

• Working knowledge of GCP, especially BigQuery

• Strong SQL skills, including joins, window functions, and performance tuning

• Working Python skills for data pipelines and scripting

• Experience with telecommunications or similar subscriber data

Nice to have

• Experience with data migrations, such as Teradata to BigQuery

• Familiarity with Salesforce, Adobe, AJO, or other CRM and CDP platforms

• Interest in marketing analytics and campaign measurement

• Experience with Google Analytics or web-based marketing data
