Build secure, scalable full-stack healthcare apps and APIs using React/Angular/Vue, Node.js/Java/.NET/Python, and PostgreSQL/MySQL, supporting clinical teams and patients daily.
A hands-on full stack engineering role building secure, scalable healthcare applications, APIs and digital experiences that directly support clinical teams and patients every day.
What’s In It For You
Benefits: Pension, critical illness cover, sick leave scheme, discounted healthcare and pharmacy rates, training & development support
Hours: 37 hours per week with flexibility around working hours
Impact: Build digital applications that directly support clinical teams and patients across a leading private healthcare network
Environment: Work on secure, scalable healthcare technology in a complex, regulated environment
Progression: Develop your engineering skills while working alongside experienced engineers, product teams and UX designers
Why This Role
One of Ireland's leading private healthcare organisations is investing in the digital applications that support its clinical teams, patients and wider hospital network.
They're looking for a Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer to join their Digital Engineering & Interoperability team and help build the next generation of those systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the stack — building modern user interfaces, backend services, APIs and integrations that need to be secure, reliable and genuinely useful.
You’ll be working on technology in an environment where software quality really matters.
The applications you build and support will sit across clinical and patient-facing healthcare systems, so there's a strong emphasis on clean engineering, security, data protection and creating good experiences for the people using them.
What They Need Help With
You’ll contribute to the design, development, testing and ongoing support of production applications across the organisation.
That means getting involved across both frontend and backend development rather than being restricted to one small part of the stack.
You'll be:
- Building and maintaining full stack web applications
- Developing modern frontend applications using React, Angular or Vue
- Building backend services using technologies such as Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, .NET or Python
- Designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Working with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or MongoDB
- Building responsive, accessible and performant user interfaces
- Contributing to integrations and event-based messaging
- Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Contributing to CI/CD and automated testing
- Supporting production systems through monitoring, bug fixing and incident resolution
- Working closely with engineers, product teams and UX designers
This is a good opportunity for someone who wants broad engineering exposure and enjoys seeing the applications they build being used in a real-world environment.
What They’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of professional software development experience
- Experience building production-grade applications as part of an engineering team
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework — React, Angular or Vue
- Backend development experience with Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, .NET or Python
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Good database and SQL fundamentals
- Comfortable using Git and modern software engineering practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to quality
- Someone who communicates well and enjoys working collaboratively
Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP, Docker, enterprise or regulated environments would be a bonus.
Healthcare experience isn't essential, but exposure to healthcare systems, interoperability or clinical workflows would also be useful.
The Environment
You’ll be joining a Digital Engineering & Interoperability function, working alongside engineers, product teams and UX designers.
Healthcare brings engineering challenges you don't necessarily encounter in a typical SaaS environment.
Security, reliability, accessibility and data protection all matter, and you'll be building systems where the quality of the technology can have a meaningful impact on the experience of patients and clinical teams.
It's a strong fit for an engineer who wants to broaden their full stack experience, work on meaningful products and develop within an experienced engineering team.
