Job Description
As a Mid Level Java Developer, you'll design and develop high-performance, high-availability services that ingest and deliver this data on a massive scale, directly enabling pricing, air shopping, ticketing, and merchandising across our platform. You'll bring deep Java expertise, a passion for clean and resilient distributed systems, and technical leadership to mentor others and shape how we modernize core capabilities spanning everything from modern offer orchestration to mission-critical systems like PSS and TPF.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, codes, tests and debugs new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing products,
- Help design and code applications using routine and/or advanced technology,
- Propose ideas to improve application performance and stability,
- Encourage high coding standards, using best practices and high quality,
- Attend status meetings and provide oral and written reports regarding work progress,
- May take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands on experience with Java v.17+ software development
- Knowledge of REST, JSON and SOAP
- Experience with tools like Git, Maven, Elastic Stack
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
- Basic knowledge of Linux and shell scripting
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform)
- Knowledge of cloud-based tech/languages, technology stacks (preferred GCP)
- Good analytical skills
- Team working skills, team player
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools
- Openness to learning and improving development processes as well as quality practices (e.g. smoke tests, acceptance tests, integration tests)
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to influence across product/engineering; excellent written design documentation.
- Nice to have: Experience with static analysis and application security tools (e.g. SonarQube, Veracode)
