Navy ERP Vendor Pay Analyst (Mid-level SAP Analyst — Vendor Pay, Procurement and Travel) — Hybrid (Falls Church, VA)

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a Navy ERP Vendor Pay Analyst (Mid-level SAP Analyst — Vendor Pay, Procurement and Travel).

Our client, a federal financial management consultancy in Great Falls, VA, is staffing the Navy ERP Command Support Team (CST) for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), the headquarters of Navy Medicine. The CST is BUMED's Tier 1.5 Navy ERP sustainment team. It sits between BUMED's end users and the Navy ERP Tier 2 business office, owns the tickets that are not user error but are not yet system defects, and keeps BUMED's transactions posting and paying.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

What will you do

The role. You are the person who clears what will not pay. BUMED's Navy ERP vendor-pay lane needs a hands-on analyst who works GR/IR imbalances, unmatched transactions and failed DDEF postings, and WAWF-to-Navy ERP interface rejects off the invoice tracking report, and who gets invoices, receiving reports, and payments to post. You are the functional owner for BUMED's procurement and travel workflows in Navy ERP, the first call for users in those lanes, and the CST's voice into the Navy ERP Tier 2 business office.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and clear GR/IR imbalances: compare goods receipts, service entry sheets, and invoice receipts on the purchase order; post or reverse the missing side, run MR11 where appropriate, and document the root cause.
  • Work unmatched transactions and failed DDEF disbursement postings with DFAS and Tier 2: match payments to obligations, correct line-of-accounting and edit-check failures, and post or request the clearing entries.
  • Monitor the WAWF/PIEE-to-Navy ERP interface: work IDoc and interface exceptions (including WAWF 3U items), clear invoice tracking report entries, and get receiving reports and invoices through to payment.
  • Resolve blocked, parked, and rejected invoices (MIRO/MIR4/MRBR), service entry sheet errors, and procurement discrepancies that stop payment, coordinating with contracting, receiving, and DFAS.
  • Monitor the DMLSS and WAWF interfaces for BUMED's medical logistics and procurement flows and work the exceptions.
  • Support reimbursable billing and collections on the SD side (G-Invoicing) and travel postings and reconciliations from DTS.
  • Own the ticket: triage Tier 1.5 tickets, resolve those within the CST's authority, escalate the rest to Tier 2 in SNAP (ServiceNow) with complete documentation, and track every ticket to closure.
  • Provide direct user support and field-level training: answer how-to questions, deliver training sessions, and write job aids for BUMED's procurement, receiving, and travel users.
  • Support period-end and year-end close: open-item review of GR/IR, unliquidated obligations, and unmatched transactions.
  • Report ticket volumes, aging, and recurring error patterns in Power BI or Excel; maintain SOPs.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of federal financial management or ERP sustainment experience, including 2+ years hands-on in Navy ERP with your own user account in the vendor-pay / procure-to-pay lane.
  • Personal, demonstrable resolution of all three: GR/IR imbalances; unmatched transactions or failed DDEF postings; WAWF-to-ERP interface exceptions worked from the invoice tracking report. Expect to walk through specific cases in the interview.
  • Working command of the SAP transactions this work runs on, such as MIRO/MIR4, MRBR, MR11, MIGO, ML81N, ME23N/ME2N, FBL1N/FBL3N, FB03, and WE02/BD87.
  • Functional-owner knowledge of procurement and travel workflows in Navy ERP, including direct end-user support and field-level training.
  • Experience with a DoD ticketing and escalation process (SNAP/ServiceNow, NHDSM, or similar) and with DFAS coordination.
  • Active Secret clearance (T3) and U.S. citizenship.
  • Microsoft Office including Visio; Power BI or Power Automate; comfortable using generative AI tools in daily work.
  • A degree is not required for this seat; experience is what counts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Navy ERP business office or sustainment team experience (GFBO, SPEBO, NEBO, CBO, or a command support team).
  • Comptroller revalidation, UMT cell, or vendor-pay backlog work at a Navy systems command or echelon II.
  • DMLSS, G-Invoicing, or DTS interface experience; Navy Medicine or military treatment facility background.
  • Navy ERP training delivery; DoD Financial Management Certification.

Is This Seat for You?

This seat is not a fit if your Navy ERP experience is mainly creating PRs and POs, budget execution, physical inventory or warehouse work, or reconciliation from Advana and reports without a Navy ERP login. We value that work; the client is hiring for the pay side of the transaction, inside Navy ERP.

Work Authorization/ Clearance:

  • Active Secret (favorable, in-scope T3/T3R) and U.S. citizenship, both required for Navy ERP access; interim clearances do not grant Navy ERP access

Our Client Benefits:

  • Family Vision (54% cost covered for the entire family)
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • Overutilization bonuses for Time and Materials (T&M) contracts
  • Lifetime Event Bonuses (e.g., child, marriage)
  • Profit-sharing arrangement for any work brought into the company
  • Unlimited Leave with Approval
