What you'll do

• Collaborate with the design team to translate wireframes and mockups into functional Shopify themes that are both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
• Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps and features that enhance the platform's functionality and improve the overall customer experience.
• Optimize website performance by implementing best practices in coding, testing, and deployment processes.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness of web applications across various devices and screen sizes.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards and share knowledge with team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to frontend performance and functionality, providing timely resolutions.
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and other services into Shopify applications.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development and eCommerce to continually improve our offerings.
• Assist in the documentation of development processes, coding standards, and best practices for future reference.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure effective project management.
• Engage with clients to gather requirements and provide technical insights that align with their business goals.
• Contribute to the overall growth of the team by mentoring junior developers and sharing expertise in Shopify development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks and libraries.
• Experience with Shopify Liquid templating language and familiarity with Shopify's APIs and app ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and techniques, ensuring optimal user experience across all devices.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, for collaborative development and code management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A portfolio showcasing previous work, particularly projects related to Shopify or eCommerce development.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend build tools and task runners such as Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques specific to eCommerce platforms.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and how they apply to frontend development.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role, providing technical support and guidance.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in web development.
