Mid-Level Software Engineer
Summary
Mid-level engineer in Dayton, OH (on-site or regular hybrid) who designs, implements, and improves a Kubernetes platform supporting a government intelligence client (NASIC), using automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, monitoring, and full-stack skills in Go/Node/Python and JavaScript frameworks. US citizenship with TS/SCI clearance eligibility is required.
Peerless is seeking a US citizen who is eligible for a TS/SCI clearance to design, implement, and improve our Kubernetes platform using open-source and enterprise solutions. You will evaluate the current platform, identify areas for improvement, and make changes to ensure it remains efficient, scalable, and secure. This is either an in person job in Dayton Ohio, or a hybrid position close to dayton so you can come in on a regular basis with no travel costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design protype and implement innovative solutions to enhance our Kubernetes platform capabilities,
- Utilize automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD practices to streamline processes and Mitigate Technical Debt
- Proactively ensure the platforms security, scalability, and reliability by implementing industry best practices and utilizing appropriate tools.
- Ensure high availability and performance of platform deployments by continually working to improve monitoring, alerting, and proactive maintenance.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize platform performance to ensure scalability and meet the growing demands of the organization.
- Collaborate with development teams to gather requirements to drive platform innovation and to continually be looking for ways to improve existing offerings.
- Provide progress reports and technological guidance to NASIC leadership and product owners as needed.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a TS Clearance
- Experience with Restful web services, server side languages (golan, nodeJS, Python)
- Experience with front end- JavaScript frameworks (angular react and/or Vue)
- Experience with Git and Jira
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes / HELM
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Gitlab CI or Jenkins
- Experience with Docker (containerized deployment)
- Experience utilizing NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB
- Top Secret Security Clearance
