Mid - Senior Java Developer with Angular experience

About the role

APW Tech is seeking a Mid - Senior Java Developer with Angular experience to join our dynamic development team. This is a full-time position based in Makati City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will take on a strategic position within our software development operations, contributing to the design, development and maintenance of robust backend systems whilst leveraging modern front-end technologies. You will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality solutions that drive the company's technological excellence and support our business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and services using current best practices and architectural patterns
• Develop and enhance Angular-based user interfaces, ensuring responsive design and optimal user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers and quality assurance specialists to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality standards
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise applications to improve performance, scalability and reliability
• Write clean, maintainable code whilst adhering to established coding standards and conventions
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices and technical approaches
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Java applications in production environments
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular framework and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
• Proficiency in relational databases (SQL) and experience with database design
• Solid knowledge of REST API development and integration
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in team environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Preferred: Experience with Spring Boot or other Java frameworks
• Preferred: Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Preferred: Experience with microservices architecture
