What you will do

Build and own working software with your team at every stage of delivery, from specification to production.

• Take ownership of building your features from specification to release, and ask early when something is unclear
• Decide how features are built, tested, and released, and own the design and delivery of a feature or work stream end to end as your scope grows
• Write clean, tested code and review your teammates' code
• Build from a written specification, and say so when it cannot be built as written
• Join planning and refinement sessions, work with analysts and testers on trade-offs, and ask the questions that make requirements buildable
• Keep the code your team ships maintainable and reliable in production
• Review AI-generated code and tests, keep what holds up, and own the call on what is ready to ship
• Coach newer engineers through reviews and pairing as your experience grows

What you bring

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering.
  • For senior scope, 5+ years, including 2+ years independently owning the design and delivery of a feature or work stream
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• English proficiency: equivalent to B2 in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), especially speaking
• AI proficiency: Practitioner level at minimum, meaning you follow the rules for safe use of data with AI, verify AI output against its source, give tools the context they need, and keep human-in-the-loop oversight on your own judgment calls. For senior scope, Independent level, meaning you apply AI to hard, ambiguous work, handle safe use of data beyond the stated rules, scale verification to risk, and decide where AI stops, keeping human-in-the-loop oversight even under deadline pressure

Skills

• Programming languages: proficiency in at least 2 programming languages (Node.js / Python / etc.), and the flexibility to switch to other languages and frameworks as projects require
• Applied experience in, growing to full ownership of:
  • engineering craft: design, code quality, testing, and review
  • delivery: building from a specification and meeting your commitments
  • turning specifications and requirements into working software
  • how you work (communication, collaboration, learning, problem solving, integrity)
• Applied experience in:
  • systems thinking and working across roles and with clients
  • engineering operations: CI/CD, environments, and production support

Strong advantage

• Experience working with US clients
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or life sciences
• Experience writing for regulated or audited environments
