Why we are hiring?

In our Sarajevo engineering hub, we are developing Infobip’s global Voice product. Running on our proprietary infrastructure distributed across 40+ Data Centers worldwide, our platform serves as the communication layer for large global brands like Uber and LG, enabling them to deliver real-time communication at a massive scale.

As voice technology evolves with the introduction of AI agents and smart automation, our product roadmap is growing significantly. To support these new capabilities and handle increasing global traffic, we are expanding our engineering footprint. We aren't just filling a single vacancy; we are forming a new team of Software Engineers to build the highly available, scalable architecture and microservices that make these modern innovations possible.

What is this role all about?

As a Mid or Senior Software Engineer at Infobip, you will be part of our Engineering Powerhouse, working on an in-house developed product that operates at a global scale. You will contribute to a large, scalable microservices architecture that delivers over 500 million messages daily and supports our clients’ business growth.

This role is focused on our Voice platform, enabling instant, real-time audio communication for customers around the world.

What you’ll do:

• Develop, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot team-owned services on Infobip’s platform

• Take full ownership of the code you produce, from development to production

• Write well-designed, testable, and scalable code following clean code principles

• Have a general overview and understanding of the interactions and dependencies in the entire system

• Work primarily on backend development while growing toward full-stack development

• Work on and expand your knowledge in the realm of backend and frontend development, databases, system design, alerting and monitoring tools

• Collaborate closely with Product Management on feature development and delivery

• Apply an AI-first mindset, including exploring and integrating AI or LLM-based capabilities into product features where relevant.

What makes you a strong fit:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of object-oriented programming principles

• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

• Willingness to learn and grow with us

• Experience working with concurrent and multi-tier applications

• Appreciation for code reviews and experience with code testing practices

• Good understanding of RESTful services

• You are comfortable using modern development approaches, including AI-assisted coding tools and agents.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot development

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Canary, or similar

• Understanding of databases and data management tools such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar

• Ability to design and implement caching strategies that improve application performance and scalability

• Experience with technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Docker, or others
