Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Mid/Senior Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) to support an innovative program office responsible for the integration of advanced weapons systems into Virginia-class submarines. You will provide engineering and technical support across system development, requirements analysis, integration, testing, technical assessments, and risk management activities supporting complex defense systems. The role requires close collaboration with government, military, and engineering stakeholders to evaluate capabilities, resolve technical challenges, and support program objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of submarine operations and combat systems and can apply operational knowledge, systems engineering principles, and modeling and simulation techniques to support the successful integration of advanced capabilities. Travel: Less than 10%
Clearance: Secret Clearance required, TS/SCI Clearance preferred.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+/10+ years systems engineering experience supporting defense or weapons systems.
- Candidates will be considered at the Mid or Senior level based on education and experience.
- Familiarity with TI-24 and/or submarine combat systems/design integration.
- Understanding of submarine combat systems, system architectures, and the integration of multiple technical capabilities.
- Experience applying technical analysis, modeling, simulation, software, or analytical tools to complex systems.
- Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with government, military, engineering, and technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Experience:
- Graduate degree in computer science, systems engineering, operations research, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) supporting submarine, naval, or combat systems.
- Experience with submarine combat system design, integration, requirements, testing, or operational assessment.
- Experience with NAVSEA and/or Integrated Warfare System.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, network systems, or software-intensive systems.
- Experience translating operational requirements and mission needs into technical or analytical models.
- Experience supporting system-level analysis, trade studies, architecture assessments, or simulation-based evaluation.
The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. This range represents a good-faith estimate and is not a guarantee; final compensation is determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and government contract labor rate requirements and may fall outside the stated range.
