Midcap Senior Credit Analyst
Assess the credit worthiness of various corporate banking, (MidCaps) customers of the Bank and develops strong knowledge of the industry and awareness of recent developments along with thorough understanding of the accounts allocated to him/her within the assigned business segment and related industries.
- Receive customers’ financial statements and carry out comprehensive financial and non-financial analysis as part of a complete credit analysis report on new credit requests and renewal of existing ones.
- Prepare the financial model and its assumptions, cross check information provided by client with information obtained via research/market sources and performing a detailed risk and mitigants analysis to ensure that all key risks are identified and addressed.
- Arrange in collaboration with the officer/Manager visits to the company's premise/factory to practically asses the company’s operation cycles, assets, production process, inventory storage procedures to be able to present a coherent in-depth analysis of the account to the approving body. Performing site visits to customers’ premises/factories is an integral part of the new commitments’ approval.
- Provide detailed structure of credit facility, support package, conditions precedent to financial close and first draw-down, covenants, representations and warranties, shareholder`s equity and personal networth recourse amounts and nature of recourse to protect AUBE’s asset base and ensure salability to banks.
- Prepare and review the credit application including purpose of the facilities offered, appraisal of customer's management, financial statements analysis (Balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement spread form), risks and mitigants, clients banking relationship as well as history of the client & business such as number of years in the business, line of business, industry analysis, market outlook, competitors, customers, trading/inventory policies... etc.
- Prepare and review contractual agreements/support documentation with internal legal department, coordinate with external lawyers (if applicable), outside consultants (insurance/engineers) to ensure adequate shifting of credit risk to third parties with going concern credibility and step-in rights.
- Conduct regular calls &/or visits to keep abreast with latest developments on a regular basis. Have an in-depth understanding of the customer’s financial statements and financial standing and the relevant industry in which they operate.
- Monitor all accounts on a daily basis through issued customer’s position/balances.
- Monitor issuing daily/monthly/quarterly reports as required from the Corporate Specialist and suggest action if necessary.
- Step in to manage daily operations of his/her assigned customers in the event of absence of the concerned specialist in order to ensure that all customers’ requests are executed in a smooth manner.
- Prepare daily, monthly, weekly reports comprising but not limited to CBE reports, Pipeline Report, expected bookings and Payoffs report, FCY allocation report, etc…
- Conduct a periodical review and assessment across all assigned accounts in respect to compliance of all applied financial and non-financial covenants as per approval conditions, in coordination with the account Officer/Manager in charge, while proactively reporting the periodical inspection results to the division head supported with corrective action proposal as needed in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge regarding the Islamic banking environment, products knowledge (Assets/liabilities) along with related banking terminologies and operational differences compared to conventional banking.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of AUB credit course or similar credit training programs
- 6-8 years’ experience in relevant work.
- Excellent PC skills
- Good command of both English & Arabic language.
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Excellent communication skills and analytical skills are essential.
- Self-motivated, team player, excellent soft skills, quantitative and qualitative analysis and decision-making skills, etc.
- Islamic banking background/academic learning is an advantage
