Middle C++ Engineer
About the Project
You will join the Broadband team working on Harmonic's CableOS, a software-based, cloud-native networking platform for cable operators.
CableOS enables broadband services to run on general-purpose CPUs instead of dedicated hardware, supporting deployment on both bare-metal servers and private cloud infrastructure.
The platform is based on a microservice architecture and focuses on high-performance networking and software-defined networking (SDN).
GlobalLogic contributes to the product across development, testing, integration, and technical support.
We are looking for a C++ Developer with 3+ years of commercial experience to join our Broadband team and work on a high-performance, network-oriented product.
You will develop system-level and performance-critical components in Linux, contribute to architectural decisions, and become a domain owner in a dedicated area of the product.
What we are looking for:
3+ years of professional C++ development experience
Strong knowledge of C++ and solid programming fundamentals
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix-like environments
Experience with inter-process communication (IPC)
Basic knowledge of computer networking
Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills
Experience working with large and complex codebases
Ability to work with critical and performance-sensitive components
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
Nice to Have
Experience with L2/L3 networking and switching
Knowledge of QoS and packet processing
Experience with high-performance or distributed systems
Experience with DPDK
Experience with Kubernetes and containers
Embedded development or experience with switch chips
Experience in the telecom/communication industry
Knowledge of DOCSIS/PON
Scripting experience with Python or shell
